Ham Filled Angel Biscuits

Instructions
- Combine first 5 ingredients.
- Mix well.
- Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in water.
- Add yeast mixture and buttermilk to flour mixture, mixing well. Turn dough out on a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic (about 8 to 10 minutes). Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and brush with melted butter.
- Cut with 2-inch biscuit cutter and place 1/2-inch apart on greased baking dish.
- Fill with sliced ham.
- Top each with a second biscuit. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Yields about 3 dozen.
