Ingredients

  • cucumbers, sliced 1/2-inch thick
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • dill
  • onion
  • garlic
  • celery

Instructions

  1. Boil sugar, vinegar, and salt together to create the brine.
  2. In each quart jar, place sliced cucumbers, dill, 1/4 onion, 1/4 garlic, and 1/2 stalk celery.
  3. Pour the hot brine over the cucumbers in each jar.
  4. Set the jars in cold pack canners and cover with cold water.
  5. Bring the water to a boil and then turn off the heat.
  6. Do not cook the jars further; let them cool and set.
