Ingredients

  • 2 c. whole wheat flour or rye
  • 2 c. soya flour or white flour
  • 1 c. wheat germ or bulgur or whole wheat or rye
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 1 c. nonfat dry milk
  • 1 c. dry nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1/2 c. cooking oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 c. water or chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat or rye flour, soya or white flour, wheat germ or bulgur, cornmeal, nonfat dry milk, and nutritional yeast flakes.
  3. Add the cooking oil, egg, and water or chicken broth to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out biscuits.
  7. Place the cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the biscuits to cool completely before serving to your dog.
