Hash Stuffed Peppers

- Cut a thin slice from the stem of each green pepper; scoop out seeds.
- Bring water and salt to a boil in a large saucepan.
- Add peppers.
- Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Remove peppers and drain.
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan.
- Add onion and saute for 2 minutes.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Spoon mixture into pepper shells.
- Place in a greased 10 x 6 x 1 1/2-inch baking pan. Bake uncovered in a preheated oven at 350° for about 30 minutes. Serves 6.
