Hawaiian Cabbage Roast

Ingredients

  • 2 to 4 lb beef roast or round steak
  • 1 large green cabbage, cut in quarters
  • 1 purple cabbage, cut in quarters
  • 1 large white onion, chopped
  • medium size bottle soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef roast in water without salt until tender.
  2. Remove fat and bones from the cooked roast; drain off water and cut the meat into small chunks.
  3. In a large pot, boil the green and purple cabbage quarters and the chopped white onion for about 25 to 30 minutes without adding salt.
  4. Drain most of the liquid from the cooked vegetables.
  5. Add the chopped meat to the vegetable pot and pour in three-quarters of the soy sauce bottle.
  6. Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for 20 to 30 minutes.
  7. Serve and enjoy this delicious Hawaiian cabbage roast.
