Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Set aside the egg whites.
  2. In cold water, stir in sugar and cornstarch until the cornstarch is dissolved.
  3. Cook on the stove until soft boil stage.
  4. Set aside the syrup mixture.
  5. Beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  6. Slowly add the syrup mixture while beating until the meringue is fluffy.
  7. Spread over pies, puddings, or cake.
