Ingredients

  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. mixed herbs
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 7 oz. milk

Instructions

  1. Mix the whole wheat flour, salt, baking powder, and mixed herbs in a bowl.
  2. Cut the butter into small pieces and rub it into the dry ingredients until crumbly.
  3. Stir in the sugar; beat the egg and add it to the milk, then stir into the mixture.
  4. Mix everything well and pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until golden and cooked through.
