Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon rum flavoring
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • coloring (if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine butter, sugar, egg, salt, and rum flavoring.
  3. Measure and mix the flour into the dough mixture until well incorporated.
  4. Using a cookie press, force 1/4 of the dough through in desired shapes onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 6 to 9 minutes or until the cookies are set but not browned.
  6. Allow cookies to cool before glazing or decorating as desired.
