Homemade Beefaroni combines tender pasta with savory ground beef and rich tomato flavors, seasoned with mushrooms and onion soup for a comforting, family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 box Ronzoni large shells
  • 1 (8 oz.) can whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 package Lipton mushroom onion soup mix
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 package MBT beef broth
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp. oil

Instructions

  1. Pour 6 cups of water and 1/2 teaspoon of oil into a large pot. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the large shells to the boiling water and cook until tender. Drain, rinse, and set aside.
  3. Saute ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
  4. Drain excess fat from the beef and return it to the skillet.
  5. Add the whole peeled tomatoes to the skillet and chop them up.
  6. Add the mushroom onion soup mix, red pepper, garlic powder, and seasoned salt to the beef and tomatoes. Cover and simmer.
  7. Once the shells are cooked, drain them and return to the pot.
  8. Add the beef broth to the shells and stir well.
  9. Spoon the cooked ground meat mixture into the pot with the shells and mix thoroughly.
  10. Serve hot.
