Ingredients

  • 1 c. melted shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. honey
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. chopped dates

Instructions

  1. Mix together shortening, eggs, honey and brown sugar.
  2. Stir together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and add to honey mixture.
  3. Add vanilla, walnuts and dates.
  4. Stir in.
  5. Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. Yields 120 cookies.
