Creamy honeycomb chicken combines tender shredded chicken with cheesy noodles, peas, and pimentos, baked to perfection—comfort food ideal for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, boiled and deboned
  • 2 c. chicken stock
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 8 oz. pkg. noodles
  • 1 c. frozen green peas
  • 1 small jar pimento
  • 2 c. shredded cheese
  • 1 c. half and half or canned milk

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 whole chicken with onions and celery; cool and debone. Chop meat into chunks.
  2. Thicken 2 cups chicken stock with 2 tablespoons flour.
  3. Cook 8 ounces of noodles; drain and add to the chicken and thickened stock.
  4. Add 1 cup frozen peas and 1 small jar pimento.
  5. Pour mixture into a baking dish; top with shredded cheese.
  6. Pour 1 cup half and half milk or canned milk over all.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with rolls and a Jell-O or green salad.
