Ingredients

  • 6 cups shredded potatoes or 1 (2 lb.) bag hash browns
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1 (8 oz.) package shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup butter (for sautéing onion)
  • 3 cups crushed corn flakes

Instructions

  1. Mix the shredded potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, shredded Cheddar cheese, and sautéed chopped onion in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 45 minutes.
  3. Remove from the oven and sprinkle crushed corn flakes and melted butter on top.
  4. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
