- Cream together shortening, sugar, and beaten eggs; then add 1 cup hot water and blend well.

- Pour in the remaining 1 cup hot water and vanilla; mix on high for 2 minutes.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
