- Scald the milk.
- Add sugar, warm water, egg, and shortening to the milk. Make sure the shortening is melted and the sugar is dissolved.
- When the milk mixture is lukewarm, dissolve the yeast in it.
- Combine the sifted flour and salt.
- Mix the flour mixture into the milk and yeast mixture.
- Mix well until the dough is smooth.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let set for 10 to 15 minutes.
