Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, egg yolks, sour cream, softened margarine, and vanilla in a bowl until the consistency of medium dough.
  2. Shape the dough into 2-inch balls.
  3. Chill the dough balls in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
  4. Beat the egg whites in a mixer bowl until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually add sugar to the egg whites, beating until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, cinnamon, and walnuts into the egg whites.
  7. Roll each dough ball into a circle on a floured surface.
  8. Cut each circle into wedges and spread with the walnut mixture.
  9. Roll up each wedge from the wide end to form a crescent.
  10. Shape the crescents on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
