Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cube butter
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Spray or grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Sprinkle 1 cup of coconut on the bottom of the pan.
  3. Sprinkle 1 cup chopped pecans over the coconut.
  4. Mix the German chocolate cake mix according to the directions on the box.
  5. Pour the cake batter over the coconut and nuts in the pan.
  6. In a bowl, blend together 1 cube butter, 8 oz. cream cheese, 1 lb. powdered sugar, and 1 tsp. vanilla until the mixture is stiff.
  7. Drop big teaspoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top of the cake batter, avoiding the edges.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
