Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup cooking oil
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring to a boil the sugar, cooking oil, white vinegar, salt, and celery seed.
  2. Pour the hot mixture over the chopped cabbage, onion, and green pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Cover tightly and put in refrigerator to chill.
  4. Keep refrigerated for several days before serving.
