Ingredients

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • a dash of salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Beat egg whites until very stiff.
  2. Gradually add half of the powdered sugar while beating.
  3. Add vanilla, salt, and cream of tartar to the mixture.
  4. Add the remaining powdered sugar and continue mixing until smooth.
  5. Spread the icing on cooled sugar cookies.
