Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ginger paste
  • 1 tsp. garlic paste
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. garam masala
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 4 Tbsp. cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together, except oil.
  2. Marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. With oiled hands, shape the beef mixture into seekhs and slide onto wooden or steel skewers.

Tips & Substitutions

For an extra flavor boost, try adding finely chopped onions or bell peppers to the beef mixture. If you prefer a milder spice level, reduce the cayenne pepper or omit the green chili. Cornstarch helps bind the mixture and gives a crispy texture when cooked, but you can substitute it with breadcrumbs if needed. Ensure the skewers are soaked in water if using wooden ones to prevent burning.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the seekh kababs hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and lemon wedges for a zesty kick. They pair beautifully with Indian Curry or a side of mint chutney for dipping. Consider serving them alongside naan or basmati rice for a complete meal. For a fun twist, serve them as toppings on Spicy Hamburgers for a fusion experience.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover seekh kababs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes until warmed through. You can also pan-fry them briefly to regain their crispiness. Avoid microwaving, as it may make them soggy.
