- Cream shortening and sugar.
- Mix in oatmeal.
- Sift flour and salt, adding to creamed mixture alternately with baking soda dissolved in the half cup of hot water.
- Roll thin, cut and bake at 350° for 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
