- Melt Crisco into a 12-inch skillet over medium heat until about 1/4-inch depth is reached.
- Cook chicken over medium heat in the skillet.
- Cover the skillet tightly and simmer, turning once or twice, until the thickest pieces are done, about 30 to 40 minutes.
- Remove the cover during the last 5 minutes of cooking to crisp the chicken.
