A rich, chocolate-covered saltine cracker treat with caramel and chocolate layers, perfect for sharing at parties or as a sweet, crunchy snack.

Ingredients

  • unsalted saltines
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 oz chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with foil.
  2. Cover the foil with unsalted saltines, arranging 4 across and 7 to 9 down.
  3. Melt 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan.
  4. Mix the melted butter with 1 cup sugar.
  5. Stir continuously while boiling for 3 minutes.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture over the saltines.
  7. Then sprinkle 12 ounces of chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 2 minutes until the chocolate is melted.
  9. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top.
  10. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until the mixture is hard, then break into pieces.
