Ingredients

  • 16 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. leaf basil
  • 1/2 tsp. leaf oregano
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles as directed on package; drain and set aside.
  2. Crumble ground beef into a 2-quart casserole dish; add chopped onions and microwave for 11 to 12 minutes or until meat is set.
  3. Stir to break meat into pieces; drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in chopped garlic, tomato sauce, tomato paste, sugar, salt, parsley flakes, basil, and oregano; mix well.
  5. Assemble in two 2 or 3-quart glass baking dishes by layering 1/3 of noodles, 1/3 of meat sauce, and 1/2 of mozzarella cheese between the pans.
  6. Repeat with remaining noodles, meat sauce, and cheese until all ingredients are used.
  7. Microwave bake at 400°F (204°C) for 12 to 14 minutes or until bubbly in the center.
