Ingredients

  • 3 lb. stewing beef
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 medium-large onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 c. white cooking wine
  • 1 c. Marsala cooking wine
  • 1/2 c. beef broth
  • 1/2 c. chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed rosemary

Instructions

  1. Saute onions and garlic in oil in a large stew pot until slightly brown.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, beginning with liquids.
  3. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
  4. If needed, add more liquid.
  5. Thicken at end of cooking time, if necessary, or desired, with cornstarch and a small amount of the hot liquid.
  6. Serve over cooked rice.
