Jack'S Beef Stroganoff

- Melt a small amount of shortening in large skillet.
- Add onion and saute until golden.
- Remove and set aside.
- Saute beef in same skillet.
- Add onion, soup (mixed with water) and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add mushrooms.
- Place in covered casserole.
- Bake at 325° for 3 hours or until meat is tender.
- About 15 minutes before serving, add sour cream, mixing well and return to oven for 15 minutes.
- Add the sherry and serve piping hot.
- Serve over noodles.
