Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2/3 to 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, cornmeal, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Beat the eggs, melt the butter or margarine, and combine with the milk.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking tin.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 45 minutes until golden and cooked through.
