Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 qts. popped popcorn
  • 1 c. dark Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 t. cream of tartar
  • 1 T. butter
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1/4 t. baking soda

Instructions

  1. Cook Karo syrup, sugar, and cream of tartar to soft ball stage (234°-240°F). Remove from heat.
  2. Add butter and vanilla to the syrup mixture and mix well.
  3. Stir in baking soda until well combined.
  4. Pour the hot syrup over the popped popcorn and quickly shape into balls.
