  • 3 c. vinegar
  • 2 lb. oleo
  • 3 lb. brown sugar
  • 6 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 c. salt
  • 1 c. bacon grease
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 2 Tbsp. celery salt
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 c. black pepper
  • dash of red pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix melted oleo, vinegar, and bacon grease to create the marinade.
  2. Add spices and brown sugar to the marinade.
  3. Dip cut-up meat into the warm sauce, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Leave the meat in the pickle for 3 days, turning once a day to evenly marinate.
