Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 lb. sausage meat
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1/2 cup yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Parboil the largest cabbage leaves in salted water for 5 minutes, then drain.
  2. Mix sausage meat and hamburger with sage, minced onion, and cooked rice.
  3. Place about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf.
  4. Roll up each leaf securely and secure with a toothpick.
