Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl.
  2. Beat 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup oil, and 1/2 cup warm water together.
  3. Combine the dissolved yeast mixture with the beaten mixture and stir in flour until well blended.
  4. Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  5. Punch down the dough, then roll out and cut into squares.
  6. Pat the center of each square with butter or oil, then fold over.
  7. Let the rolls rise again until doubled in size.
  8. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 20 minutes until golden.
