Ingredients

  • 1 (3 to 7 lb.) brisket
  • 1 bottle teriyaki sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Mix teriyaki sauce, water, and brown sugar in a bowl.
  2. Sprinkle garlic powder and pepper into the mixture and stir.
  3. Marinate the brisket (3 to 7 pounds) in the teriyaki mixture for 24 hours.
  4. Preheat gas or charcoal grill and cook the brisket on the grill for 1 hour.
  5. Remove the brisket from the grill and place it in a pan with teriyaki sauce.
  6. Bake in the oven for 3.5 hours, turning the brisket once midway through cooking.
  7. Remove the meat from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes.
  8. Place the brisket on a platter and pour additional teriyaki sauce over the meat.
  9. Cut into 3/4-inch strips and serve.
