John'S Salsa

A vibrant, spicy salsa with fresh tomatoes, jalapenos, garlic, and onions, perfect for dipping, topping, or adding a fiery kick to any Mexican-inspired meal.

Ingredients

  • 9 c. tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 7 medium jalapeno peppers
  • 6 medium cloves garlic
  • 1 c. sweet onion
  • 10 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. cumin

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients, except cornstarch, in a large pot.
  2. Heat to boiling point.
  3. Remove 1 cup of the mixture and add cornstarch to it. Stir well.
  4. Return the cornstarch mixture to the pot.
  5. Stir and cook only until the cornstarch is dissolved.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Cool the salsa.
  8. Store in jars in the refrigerator for 10 days to two weeks.
