Ingredients

  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  2. Continue to beat until the mixture is light and airy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Alternate adding flour and milk to the mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
  5. Beat well after each addition to combine thoroughly.
  6. Add vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
  7. Divide the batter evenly into three 9-inch pans and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
