Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. stew meat
  • 5 carrots, cut in chunks
  • 2 medium onions, cut in eighths
  • 3 stalks celery, cut in small chunks
  • 5 to 6 medium potatoes, cut in chunks
  • 1 can bisque of tomato soup or tomato soup with pieces
  • 1 can cream of celery or cream of mushroom soup
  • salt and pepper
  • dash of water in each can to rinse out

Instructions

  1. Place ingredients in a large oven pot with a cover in the order listed above, starting with the meat on the bottom.
  2. Cover the pot tightly.
  3. Place in a 250°F (121°C) oven and cook for 5 hours.
  4. Serve hot with biscuits or bread.
