Juicy rib steaks cooked to perfection with a flavorful onion and beef broth sauce, ideal for satisfying dinners for steak lovers and those seeking hearty, savory flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 rib (1-inch) steaks
  • 4 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 small leek
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Wash steaks and pat with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch.
  2. Wash and slice the onion (leek).
  3. In a skillet, heat the butter or margarine.
  4. Saute onions until soft. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Add steaks to the hot pan.
  6. Cook steaks for 4 to 5 minutes per side for rare, or 7 to 8 minutes per side for well done.
  7. Remove steaks and place on a platter.
  8. Add beef broth, vinegar, thyme or rosemary, and butter to the skillet. Stir and cook until the pan juices are smooth and shiny.
  9. Pour the sauce over the steaks.
  10. Reheat the onions and top the steaks before serving.
