Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together until smooth.
  2. Add the beaten egg and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Drop heaping teaspoonfuls of dough onto greased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  8. Top with icing as desired.
