- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add Wesson oil and beat.
- Add eggs all at once and beat again.
- Mix baking powder with flour, adding a dash of nutmeg if desired.
- Add cognac to the creamed butter mixture, then start adding flour and milk gradually.
- Shape the dough into knots or desired shapes and place on baking sheet.
- Brush tops of cookies with egg wash and sprinkle them with sesame seed.
- Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
