Kraut balls are savory, bite-sized appetizers combining sausage, sauerkraut, and cream cheese, coated in bread crumbs. Perfect for parties or casual gatherings with bold flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mild sausage, well drained
  • 1 can chopped kraut, well drained
  • 4 oz Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • bread crumbs
  • chopped onions

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage and drain well.
  2. Drain the chopped kraut well.
  3. Let the cream cheese soften.
  4. Mix all sausage, kraut, and cream cheese by hand. Chill in the fridge for a couple of hours.
  5. Form the mixture into balls.
  6. Dip the balls into beaten egg, then roll in bread crumbs and parsley.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
