Kreplach are delicious Jewish dumplings filled with seasoned chicken, perfect for serving in soup or as a standalone dish. They feature tender dough and savory filling.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • juice glass of water
  • flour
  • 6 chicken breasts
  • 2 onions
  • 2 stalks celery
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Put four eggs and water in a big bowl.
  2. Beat the eggs and water together, then add enough flour to achieve a soft dough consistency.
  3. Roll the dough into 1 1/2-inch squares.
  4. Saute onions and celery until soft.
  5. Add cooked, diced chicken, salt, and pepper to the sautéed vegetables and mix well to make the filling.
  6. Place a spoonful of filling onto each dough square and seal the edges to form dumplings.
  7. Boil the kreplach in salted water for 12 to 15 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Serve in soup or enjoy on their own as desired.
