Ingredients

  • 25-30 cucumbers, sliced
  • 8 large white onions, sliced
  • 2 large sweet peppers, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickling salt
  • 5 cups cider vinegar
  • 5 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons mustard seed
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric

Instructions

  1. Combine cucumbers, onions, peppers, and pickling salt in a large bowl.
  2. Let stand for 3 or more hours, then drain.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, mustard seed, turmeric, and cloves.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Add the sugar mixture to the drained vegetables and heat thoroughly.
  6. Do not boil after mixing.
  7. Place the mixture into jars and seal.
