A refreshing and sweet grapefruit dish topped with cinnamon, sugar, butter, and cherries, perfect for a light, flavorful breakfast or healthy snack for two.

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit
  • butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Cut the grapefruit in half.
  2. Loosen the fruit from the skin, then cut each section close to the membrane.
  3. Remove the core.
  4. Dot each grapefruit half with butter.
  5. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle over the grapefruit halves.
  6. Place the grapefruit halves on the broiler rack 4 inches from the heat.
  7. Broil for 8 minutes.
  8. Decorate with maraschino cherries before serving.
