Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 Tbsp margarine
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp chives

Instructions

  1. Soften yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
  2. Put margarine, sugar, basil, dried parsley, celery salt, chives, and dill weed in a large bowl.
  3. Pour boiling water over them and stir. Let cool.
  4. Mix in 1 1/2 cups flour.
  5. Beat for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in yeast mixture and eggs.
  7. Add about 1 3/4 cups flour to make a stiff batter.
  8. Beat for 1 minute.
  9. Cover lightly and put in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  10. Grease 2 small or 1 large bread pan.
  11. Stir down the dough and place it in the prepared pan.
  12. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for about 1 hour.
