- Cream the butter. Add sugar. Add eggs.
- Beat on high speed for 3 minutes.
- Sift, measure, and sift flour, salt, mace, and baking powder together. Sift again.
- Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture in 3 installments, beating 1 minute after each addition.
- Add lemon juice and beat for 30 seconds.
- Pour the batter into the bottom and face of the lamb mold.
- Place the mold on a cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 325°F for 1 hour.
- Remove from oven and lift the lid off the mold.
- Usually done at this point.
