Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup small curd creamed cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Grease a 10-inch by 1.5-inch pie plate.
  3. Cook and stir ground beef over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in oregano, basil, tomato paste, and 1/2 cup of shredded Mozzarella cheese.
  5. Layer cottage cheese and grated Parmesan cheese in the pie plate.
  6. Spoon beef mixture over the cheese layers.
  7. In a blender or with a hand beater, beat milk, Bisquick baking mix, eggs, salt, and pepper until smooth, about 15 seconds in a blender or 1 minute with a hand beater.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pie plate over the beef mixture.
  9. Bake until a knife inserted between the center and edge comes out clean, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  11. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
