Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. oats
  • 1 c. Rice Krispies
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Instructions

  1. Layer first 5 ingredients in order listed in a 1-quart wide-mouth glass canning jar.
  2. Press down firmly on each layer before adding the next ingredient.
  3. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda together, mixing well.
  4. Add flour mixture on top of chocolate chip layer.
  5. Add a gift card with the following instructions:
  6. Mix jar ingredients with 6 Tbsp. soft margarine, 1 beaten egg, and 1 tsp. vanilla.
  7. Roll into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
