Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle yeast in the warm water and let it sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine margarine, sugar, and boiling water; stir until the margarine melts and mixture cools until warm.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, beaten egg, flour, and salt to the cooled mixture.
  4. Mix well until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape the dough into rolls and let them rise until doubled in size.
  6. Bake according to desired size and texture preferences, typically at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown.
