Instructions
- Combine milk, cornstarch, salt, and sugar in a saucepan.
- Cook, stirring over medium heat, until mixture comes to a full boil and thickens.
- Simmer, stirring for one minute.
- Break egg yolks into a small bowl.
- Gradually stir some hot mixture into the egg yolks, then add all to the saucepan.
- Cook and stir for 1 minute longer.
- Remove from heat and blend in lemon peel and lemon juice.
- Chill until cold to the touch.
- Fold in whipped cream.
- Pour into 4 stem dessert dishes.
- Freeze until firm.
- Grate additional lemon peel on top for garnish.
