Ingredients

  • 1 cup white bread crumbs
  • 3/4 pint fresh milk
  • grated rind of 1 lemon
  • juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Set the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a pie dish.
  3. Soak the bread crumbs in the fresh milk for at least one hour.
  4. Transfer the soaked bread crumbs and milk mixture into the greased pie dish.
  5. Add the grated lemon rind, lemon juice, and the beaten white of the egg, stirring carefully to prevent curdling.
  6. Bake for 1 1/2 hours until set and lightly golden.
