Ingredients

  • 3 medium cabbage heads
  • 8 carrots
  • 8 red or green peppers
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 3 pint vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 6 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Grind all vegetables in a food chopper and add salt.
  2. Let the mixture stand for 2 hours.
  3. Drain the vegetables and mix with the remaining ingredients: vinegar, mustard seed, and sugar.
  4. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator; no sealing required.
  5. Use in salads with mayonnaise or as a flavorful condiment.
