  • 12 medium onions
  • 1/2 cup salt

  4. Let stand until sugar dissolves (do not heat).
  5. Combine both mixes and mix well.

Tips & Substitutions

For a crunchier relish, chop the vegetables by hand instead of using a food chopper. You can substitute the cabbage with napa cabbage for a milder flavor. If you're looking for a sweeter touch, consider adding diced apples or a splash of pineapple juice. This relish can also be adjusted with different bell pepper colors for a vibrant look.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Lindburg Relish as a tangy topping for grilled meats or as a refreshing side dish with sandwiches. It pairs beautifully with Chili Using Deer Meat, adding a crunchy contrast. You can also enjoy it alongside crackers and cheese for a delightful appetizer or as part of a picnic spread.

Storage & Reheating

Store the Lindburg Relish in airtight freezer containers to maintain its freshness. It can last up to 6 months in the freezer. When ready to use, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and give it a good stir before serving. Avoid reheating as this relish is best enjoyed cold.
